about

This was the first single from this album. It's something of an outlier, I suppose, but it fits. It's a simple song - I wrote it very quickly.

It was inspired in part by a Jo Nesbo novel of the same name. We recorded it at One Cat and the band did a great job creating the atmosphere.

lyrics

I have no clothes
I've barely eaten
No one talks to me at all,
But I get beaten
I'm a stranger in the street, a stranger in the street
I'm the redeemer
Sure I get tired and I get lonely
And, yes, I feel it in my bones when you disown me
And it hurts me to the core
It hurts me to the core of the redeemer
When I look around sometimes, and I watch people live their lives
Living lives they couldn't lead if it hadn't have been for me
But do they know this? Do they even care?
Well it hurts me to the core
It really makes me sore
So here I am
I've been forsaken
Now I'm weary to my soul, my body's aching
I'm a stranger in the street, a stranger in the street
I'm the redeemer
I'm a stranger in the street, maybe someday soon we'll meet
