Around the time we finished the No Peace for the Wicked album, I started thinking about what I wanted to do next musically. The live band had morphed into a set 5 piece rock group (for NPFTW it was Ross and me and various others). And I was also listening a lot to my old band The 'A' Train - both our releases and also various demo recordings. I felt like there was unfinished business in them hills, and we had the perfect group to do just that. The Faint Sound of Drums was one of several of tracks we recorded based on some of those demos.
lyrics
we head on through the forest bursting at the seams
burnt by a promise that lingers in your dreams
let go, its okay
don't you try to disappear away
please don't hide
you hear the faint sound of drums
as the hummingbirds hum
call out to me darling, yes I will come running
hear the faint sound of drums
as the hummingbirds hum
reach out to me darling, yeah, I will come
frozen like a portrait that's hanging from the trees
a mind stuck on racing
the rustle of the leaves
let go, its okay now
don't you try to disappear away
please don't hide
you hear the faint sound of drums
as the hummingbirds hum
call out to me darling, yeah, I will come running
as the hummingbirds hum
you hear the faint sound of drums
reach out to me darling, yeah, I will come
La la la, yeah
Na na na
let go, its okay - yes
don't you try to disappear away
please don't hide
as the hummingbirds hum
hear the faint sound of drums
call out to me darling, yeah, I will come running
hear the faint sound of drums
as the hummingbirds hum
reach out to me darling, yeah, I will come

Fantastic album by Jeremy Tuplin. Great songs, expertly arranged and produced. Highly recommended for fans of thoughtful, quirky indie pop. James McKean and the Blueberry Moon
Chris plays guitar with the Blueberry Moon. However his solo Aperture EP release is thoroughly fantastic in its own right. Brilliant playing, brilliant production, and genuinely beautiful songs. James McKean and the Blueberry Moon
Introspective, homespun folk tunes from John Donne that feel informed by the sugary bleakness of '80s and '90s indie pop. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2023
