about

Huddled is the most country / Sun records one on the album. Although I think it was more inspired by Mark Mulcahy and Leonard Cohen. The 'nothing right' and 'nothing left' thing was stolen from Adam Beattie. I bet he stole it from someone else too.

This one and When Sleep Escapes started as demos I recorded with my brother in Oxford one Christmas.

I play this song better now, but the recording had a really good vibe, so we went with it.

lyrics

So far away from my secrets
So misinformed is your smile
So innocent, your reason
So effortless, the trial
I got nothing right when I was younger
And I've nothing left now I'm old
Will you take me back, to when we were huddled here in the cold?
Where was the strength you were promised,
And all the belief I had?
And where should I turn for solace,
When I know you're hurting bad?
I got nothing right when I was younger
And I've nothing left now I'm old
Will you take me back, to when we were huddled here in the cold?
